Los Angeles-based Fruition Production has officially announced the November release of a new documentary titled “XRP Unleashed.” announced plans to self-distribute via a detailed post on Via X, highlighting a strategic shift away from traditional Hollywood channels that have shown a waning interest in supporting unaffiliated newcomers. The documentary will be made available on platforms including Apple TV and Amazon.
“We are excited to announce that we are targeting the release of XRP Unleashed for November! We have taken matters into our own hands and are aiming for self-distribution. This means that the documentary will be available on a few platforms such as Apple TV and Amazon without their support,” Fruition Production revealed.
What XRP Unleashed Will Show
In a post on X, Fruition Production elaborated further on the distribution decision: “In an era where Hollywood is grappling with material shifts and diminished enthusiasm for experimental content from new creators, self-distribution allows us to maintain creative control and reach our audience directly without the need for establishment approvals.”
Ripple CTO David Schwartz will make one of the most notable appearances in the documentary. Notably, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and other top executives will not appear in the documentary: “Brad and his executive team are unwilling to appear, although we did interview David (Schwartz). Given the scope of what we cover, I can’t really blame them. Resistance in the form of demanding a lot of story compromises, and then random celebrity.”
The documentary’s independence from platforms like Netflix was highlighted following community speculation about potential partnerships. Fruition clarified: “There was never an official partnership with Netflix. Partnering with platforms like this often involves significant creative compromises and numerous intermediaries that could dilute the message of the documentary.”
“XRP Unleashed” attempts to dissect Ripple Labs’ legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a saga that just ended with the legal remedies ruling on August 7. The film promises to provide an in-depth analysis through interviews with prominent figures involved in the CSE, including influencers, financial analysts, legal experts, and Ripple’s internal team.
It will cover the confrontation with the SEC seeking to establish a clear legal framework for XRP, the impact it could have on international banking and financial services, the technological basis of XRP, and its potential applications in areas such as asset tokenization and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
Responding to an online discussion surrounding the documentary, Fruition Production cleared up a lot of questions. The studio confirmed plans to release a new trailer a few weeks before the premiere, intended to offer a taste of the thorough investigation and groundbreaking revelations the film promises to deliver.
The documentary’s pricing and distribution model were also topics of community interest, with Fruition noting: “Initially, the documentary will be available to rent. We are exploring moving to an ad-supported platform in the coming years to ensure broader accessibility.”
As for the potential timing of the release aligning with XRP market movements, the studio noted: “Aligning our release with a peak in XRP market price could amplify the impact of the documentary and benefit the community, although such timing may be coincidental.”
At the time of writing, XRP was trading at $0.5969.
