The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 became official a few months ago and today it has received a sibling: the Smart Band 9 Pro. Like previous Pro versions in Xiaomi’s best-selling wearables line, this one has a larger, squarer screen compared to the non-Pro Smart Bands.
The display of the Smart Band 9 Pro has a diameter of 1.74 inches, of course AMOLED, with a resolution of 336 x 480 and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The entire wearable measures 43.27 x 32.49 x 10.8mm and weighs 24.5g thanks to its aluminum alloy body.
It is 5ATM water resistant and has a 350 mAh battery that is suitable for up to 21 days of use. It has NFC on board, along with Bluetooth 5.4 and GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS support. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 8 and higher, as well as iPhones running iOS 12 and higher.
Like any device of its kind, the Smart Band 9 Pro measures your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress and also analyzes your sleep. There are more than 150 sports modes to choose from, including improved tracking for running and swimming.
The Smart Band 9 Pro starts at CNY 399 ($56), while magnetic quick release straps cost CNY 169 ($23) and leather quick release straps at CNY 99 ($13).
The Watch S4 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 and a peak brightness of 2200 nits, and a user-swapable bezel. It also has 5ATM water resistance and more than 150 sports modes.
The watch is available in two versions, one of which has eSIM support. It measures 47.3 x 47.3 x 12mm and weighs 44.5g. It has Bluetooth 5.3 and supports the same satellite positioning systems and phone operating systems as the Smart Band 9 Pro.
Like that product, it also monitors your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and your stress. The watch also has built-in running workouts and AI-driven route planning (whatever that means). Thanks to the dual-mode walkie-talkie function and eSIM support, you can listen to music and make calls without a phone.
You can reply to messages, send emojis and control Xiaomi smart home devices directly from the watch. In China you can also use it as an NFC car key. The Watch S4 starts at CNY 999 ($140).
This launch event was for the Chinese market only, so we don’t know yet when these devices will reach international markets, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
