As with previous Civi phones, the Civi 14 comes equipped with multiple cameras on board. There are three cameras on the back, including a 50MP main camera and a 50MP 2x telephoto camera, along with a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Over on the front, there’s not one but two 32MP cameras, one of which is autofocus and the other is an ultra-wide camera. These are all Leica-branded, so you get all the Leica-specific features like color science, filters, and watermarks that you’d find on Xiaomi’s more premium models.
But it’s not all about the cameras. The phone features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which has proven to be quite capable. You also get up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone also has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with quad-curved glass and Dolby Vision support. And finally, there’s a 4,700mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
All this comes with the usual attractive Xiaomi price tag. Let’s see how well the phone performs.
Unpacking
The Xiaomi 14 Civi USA review unit comes in black Xiaomi 14 series packaging with Leica branding. Inside you’ll find the phone along with a 67W charger and USB-A to C cable.
A nice addition is a hard transparent case, which feels nicer than the usual soft silicone variants you normally see. The case is quite thin and adds minimally to the size of the phone. It is also nice that it has an open bottom lip, which makes it easier to use navigation gestures.
