Samsung has unveiled OneUI 6 last year at the Samsung Developer Conference 2023 (SDC23). However, One UI 7 has suffered a series of delays and will not be released see you next yearprobably together with the Galaxy S25 series. So this year’s SDC focused on other things. But we might still get a glimpse into what Samsung is cooking – the company just announced that it will be holding another SDC later this year.
Samsung Developer Conference Korea 2024 will be an online event on November 21. You can already register at the official websiteif you are interested. There will be two keynote speeches and a total of 29 sessions in which Samsung will share its progress in areas such as generative AI on devices, the future of healthcare and how Samsung Health fits in, bringing the Matter protocol to the SmartThings platform and more.
What about one user interface? The press release doesn’t mention it by name, but one keynote will focus on “Improving the user experience of Samsung Electronics’ software and device platforms” and will be led by Samsung Electronics Device Platform Center Vice President Jeong Jae-yeon and Samsung Research Executive Director Kwon Ho-beom. It looks like we’ll get a preview of One UI 7, or at least know when public beta testing will begin.
One UI 7 will bring a brand new look to Samsung’s Android skin and is a major redesign, which is why it’s taking so long. Yesterday we saw one unofficial video that shows off some of the upcoming changes.
