Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition at the Unpacked event. This customized smartphone will be given to all athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The company announced that it had just begun distributing units to nearly 17,000 participating athletes, who will have the opportunity to the new Flip foldable even before the official market launch of the device.

The Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition comes in a custom-made Yellow color with the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games logo engraved on the rear panel. Each device comes with an eSIM preinstalled with 100GB of 5G data, courtesy of Orange.

Samsung Wallet comes with a free public transportation pass and a number of Olympic apps are also pre-installed “to help athletes explore new experiences and connect with new people while in Paris,” the company said in a press release.

Samsung has been a key partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since Nagano 1998 and has been releasing customized Galaxy phones since Sochi 2014.

The Flip6 is the second foldable to get the Olympic treatment after the special Winter Dream White variant of the Galaxy Z Flip3 5Glaunched for Beijing 2022.
