Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold special edition last week. The foldable went on sale over the weekend before selling out in just 10 minutes.

The phone is a serious upgrade over the Fold6 with larger screens with a more comfortable aspect, a thinner profile and a 200 MP main camera.

According to insiders, the sale started with a seven-hour delay because the company needed time to “assess production quantities and decide on the quantity to be released.”

Demand was so high that retailers and carriers weren’t even getting the phone calls due to “stock shortages.” However, Samsung did not reveal how many units were in the first batch.

Samsung does not plan to release the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition worldwide. However, it could end up in the Chinese market Samsung W25 name with a custom black and gold paint job in collaboration with China Telecom.

The phone is priced at KRW 2,789,600, which equates to almost $2,050/€1,850.
