Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Slimalso known as Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, will reportedly not use any of those names when it goes official. Instead, it will be called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

This information comes from legendary leaker Evan Blass, who also revealed that the device will have a 6.5-inch display on the outside, an 8-inch internal display and that it will be 4.9mm thick when unfolded and 10.6mm thick when folded.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Slim is actually called Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

That will make it much more competitive against the Honor Magic V3 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4the former is 4.35mm thick when open and 9.2mm thick when closed, the latter 4.6mm/9.5mm, respectively. Sure, Samsung can’t match either of those, but it comes a lot closer with the Fold Special Edition than it ever did with any non-Special Edition Fold, including the latest Z-fold6.

And now for the bad news. According to several previous rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will only be available in Korea and China. That doesn’t make sense to us either, so hopefully that won’t happen. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. There are rumors that the Fold Special Edition launch in Korea in September And October in China.
