If you’re looking for a new budget tablet that’s also smaller than 10 inches, the recently announced Redmi Pad SE 8.7 maybe something for you. It comes in two options, the first is Wi-Fi only and the second adds LTE connectivity. Both are now heading to Europe, the UK and other markets after debuting in USA last month.
Regardless of which Redmi Pad SE 8.7 you opt for, you’ll get an 8.7-inch IPS LCD with an 800 x 1,340px resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 5:3 aspect ratio. The panel also has a brightness of up to 600 nits in outdoor mode and houses a 5MP front-facing camera. The display is flanked by dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and you also get a headphone jack if you prefer wired audio.
The rear gets a single 8MP shooter that can record FHD video. Both versions of the tablet come with MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. Storage is expandable via an onboard microSD card slot.

The software side of things is covered by Xiaomi HyperOS, which runs on Android 14. Xiaomi has also added a 6,650mAh battery with support for 18W charging, although the tablet only ships with a 10W charger.
