Meet the OnePlus Pad 2 – the worldwide variant of what Chinese customers are calling the OnePlus Pad Pro.
The back of the tablet has a matte finish that not only looks nice, but also feels pleasant.
In Europe, the slate comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable and nothing more. It supports 67W charging, but you will need to bring your own charger.
If you want to tap into the full productivity potential of the OnePlus Pad 2, you can buy the $150 Smart Keyboard, which adds a full set of keys and a touchpad that’s twice the size of the OnePlus Pad’s keyboard. There’s also the $100 Stylo 2, which vibrates.
The keyboard feels premium. It connects via pogo pins and supports Bluetooth. The keyboard has a built-in 205mAh battery and weighs 504 grams. If you attach it to the tablet, the whole thing becomes too heavy even for your lap and we’d say a desk is a must.
The Smart Keyboard allows you to adjust the tilt of the screen. When you close the tablet with the keyboard, the lid between the two feels a bit floppy and out of place.
We tested the OnePlus Pad 2’s six-speaker setup and have to say, we’re impressed. Combined with the solid 12.1-inch 2120x3000px IPS LCD, we’d call the OnePlus Pad 2 a winner for media consumption.
It comes as no surprise that the OnePlus Pad 2 performs smoothly considering it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 12GB of RAM.
The device uses the same multitasking functionality as the OnePlus Open, which is great on the larger screen.
Finally, the tablet lacks a fingerprint scanner, which isn’t ideal. Not so much for security, but if you have multiple accounts, you’ll need to enter a passcode or PIN every time you unlock it.
That’s all we have with the OnePlus Pad for now. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
