The next foldable smartphone from Oppo and OnePlus will be the Oppo Find N5 in China and OnePlus Open 2 internationally. Like the Find N3 and original Openthese are expected to be identical. That’s why we call both the Open 2 in this article, but everything we say also applies to the Find N5.
According to prolific Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Open 2 will be larger than the original, but also very slim (under 10 mmaccording to a rumor from the past). On the back is a large circular camera island, which will house a trio of Hasselblad shooters: a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide and a 50 MP 3x zoom periscope telephoto camera.
The Open 2’s battery gets a big boost compared to its predecessor: 5,700 mAh versus 4,805 mAh. The upcoming device will support wireless charging, something the original Open did not.
It will come as no surprise that the Open 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. According to an earlier rumor, the Find N5 will be released between January and March next year, and the same could be true for the Open 2.
