Mediatek will launch its next flagship chipset on October 9. The announcement was made on Weibo, where the Taiwanese company said it expected “a new generation of Mediatek products.”

The report didn’t mention the new chipset with AI NPU by name, but we expect it to be called the Dimensity 9400 and feature Arm’s Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU.

The new chipset will reportedly feature an octa-core CPU: 1×3.63 GHz Cortex-X925 + 3×2.8 GHz Cortex-X4 + 4×2.1 GHz Cortex-A725. Leaked benchmarks have revealed that the processor’s performance would be 30% better than its predecessor, while the GPU may the most powerful on the market.

Oppo is expected to launch two Dimensity 9400-powered Find X8 phones — vanilla and Pro. We also expect the vivo X200 series to introduce as many as four phones running the Mediatek platform soon after launch, but the company has not commented on the matter yet.
