iOS 18 is officially rolling out to users around the world today, and we’ve rounded up all supported iPhones that are eligible for the software update. The major updates are scheduled to go live at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/5 p.m. UTC time for millions of users around the world at the same time.
The oldest supported iPhones on the list are the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, which launched six years ago in September 2018. As long as you have an iPhone released in 2018 or later, you’ll see the big new update in your settings. As usual, it may take a while for the update to show up on your device as it’s being pushed out to millions of users at once. You can go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and check if the iOS 18 update is available.

By the way, you don’t need to update your device to iOS 18 if you only care about security patches. Apple will continue to push out the latest security updates to devices running iOS 17.7, which also launches today.
Also worth noting is that Apple Intelligence won’t be part of iOS 18. It’s coming sometime next month with iOS 18.1, with an exact date not yet known. That’s for the US, if you live in the EU or China, don’t expect to get those AI features on your iPhone. soon.
