As expected, Infinix today announced its new Zero 40 series smartphones with the Zero 40 4G And Zero 40 5G. Both phones feature curved AMOLED displays, 108MP main cameras, and 5,000mAh batteries with 45W charging. The 5G variant gets a more capable chipset, wireless charging, and a few other differences.
Infinix Zero 40 5G
Infinix Zero 40 4G/ Zero 40 5G share the same 6.74-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, up to 1,300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Zero 40 offers up to 120Hz refresh rate while the 5G variant gets a 144Hz panel. Both phones also come with a 50MP front-facing camera (JN1 sensor) and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Infinix Zero 40 4G
On the rear, both phones offer a 108MP main camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 sensor (1/1.67-inch) and OIS. This is joined by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Zero 40 5G records up to 4K video at 60 fps, while Zero 40 maxes out at 2K resolution at 30 fps.
Another interesting addition is GoPro mode, which lets you pair the Zero 40/40 5G with a compatible GoPro camera and use the phone as a viewfinder and for controlling shooting modes directly from the camera app. The GoPro Quik app also comes preinstalled on the phones.
Zero 40 5G Features MediaTek Size 8200 chipset at the helm with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage, while Zero 40 is equipped with the Helio G100 along with 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage.

Both phones run on XOS 14.5 based on Android 14 and will receive 3 years of security patches and two Android version updates. The Zero 40 gets Wi-Fi 5 connectivity while the 5G variant gets faster Wi-Fi 6e support. Both come with 5,000mAh batteries and support 45W wired charging. Zero 40 5G also supports up to 20W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Infinix Zero 40 4G comes in Misty Aqua, Blossom Glow and Rock Black colours while the Zero 40 5G comes in Violet Garden, Moving Titanium and Rock Black.
Infinix Zero 40 4G starts at MYR 1,200 ($279) for the 8/256GB version in Malaysia, while Zero 40 5G MYR 1,699 ($395)The open sale in Malaysia is scheduled for September 8.
