Google is gearing up to launch at least four Pixel 9 phones. Today we got confirmation on the names of the two new flagships.
According to the Canadian Radio Equipment List (REL) – a comprehensive publication of all radio equipment certified for use in the North American country – one will be called the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the other will be called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pro Fold at REL
The Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to succeed the Pixel 8 Pro, the largest member of the current lineup. The last time we had an XL phone was in 2019 when the Pixel 4 XL was there.
We expect something similar to happen now: the Pixel 9 Pro XL will be a larger version of the Pixel 9 Pro, which is a new addition to the lineup.
The other phone, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, is simply the successor to the Pixel Fold. It just gets a new name to better fit in with the rest of the family.
