Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold6 with One UI 6.1.1, and the interface allowed Gemini to work in a split-screen mode. At the time, it was the only phone and UI to offer this AI assistant feature, but Google eventually decided to expand the service to other big-screen Android devices.

Multiple sources revealed that the feature is available on Galaxy Tab tablets, older Galaxy Z Fold foldable tablets, Google Pixel tablets, and Fold devices. It’s essentially an option that allows the app to work in a floating window, provided the interface has that feature.
Tablets and foldables get Gemini in a floating window with a steering wheel to move it around the screen. Users can ask Gemini about the screen in the background, but another important function of the AI ββis to investigate a subject in a video/text that is in a different part of the screen.
