This week there was less announcement and that gave room for a lot of rumors to fill our news section.
Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy S25 Ultra with a larger 6.86-inch display and thinner bezels that are said to be 2.3mm compared to 3.35mm on the S24 Ultra. The upcoming Samsung flagship should feature slightly rounded corners, which should make it easier to handle.
New leaks have revealed the color options for the iPhone 16 Pro series. It appears that Apple has settled on White, Black, Gray and Gold, all of which will carry the Titanium prefix.
Leaked slides for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset shed more light on what to expect. The flagship chip will be built on a 3nm node with eight-core formation and Oryon CPU cores. The CPU will be supported by an Adreno 8-series GPU with performance and efficiency improvements, as well as a new NPU and a “Low-Power AI” (LPAI) subsystem.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 14 Pro has appeared on a certification listing with 90W fast charging. Samsung’s Galaxy A16 5G will offer a 5,000mAh battery cell, according to a listing on China’s 3C agency.
Outside the rumor mill, Tecno announced its budget phone Spark Go 1 with a Unisoc T615 chipset, a 90Hz LCD and a 5,000mAh battery.
Qualcomm has also made its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 official, arriving as a successor to last year’s 7s Gen 2. The new chip promises 20% better CPU performance, 40% faster GPU, 30% better AI performance, and 12% power efficiency compared to its predecessor. The new chip is expected to debut in a Xiaomi phone as early as next month.
We also got to see some samples of the new Zoom Enhance feature coming soon to Google’s Pixel 9 series and Pixel 8 Pro, while Samsung expanded its Circle to Search functionality to include music recognition.
