Nothing’s CMF sub-brand began its lifecycle almost a year ago and focuses on delivering affordable devices with a design-first approach. The CMF Buds Pro 2 are the latest addition to Nothing’s TWS lineup and stay true to their Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) nature, featuring an attractive design and a starting price of $59 / €59 / £59 / INR 4,299.
We received the USA-exclusive blue colorway with a saturated hue that stands out. The design of the case and earbuds feels identical to the first generation CMF buttons (non-Pro) and is made entirely of plastic.
Despite their all-plastic nature, the earbuds and their housing feel sturdy, with the lid closing with a firm click. What’s new about the Buds Pro 2’s housing is that the aluminum alloy dial now serves a functional purpose, and can be used to control the volume, switch between ANC and transparency mode, and answer or hang up calls. The ridges on the outside of the dial also provide a more tactile feel.
The buds feature an in-ear design with matching silicone tips and touch controls on the upper halves of the stems. These are the first earbuds in the CMF series to offer dual drivers with 11mm dynamic bass drivers and 6mm tweeters. Nothing has also improved the ANC, which can now drown out up to 50dB of noise around you, and has also added LDAC and surround sound support.
In our full review, we test the sound quality of the Buds Pro 2 and see whether the impressive battery life really does last that long.
