The next Apple Watch, which is due to launch in September and was previously known as Apple Watch Xnow rumor has it that it will have a larger display and that it will be thinner overall than his predecessorbut no other design changes are expected.

The information comes from the usually reliable Mark Gurman who reports on BloombergBoth sizes of the Watch X have larger displays, with the larger version having a display roughly the same size as that of the Apple Watch Ultra.

By the way, the Apple Watch Ultra won’t get any major design changes this year. Inside, things will be different. Both the Apple Watch X and Apple Watch Ultra are powered by a new chip, which could potentially have a number of Apple Intelligence features. But they won’t be coming this year, as Apple is currently focused solely on bringing AI to iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with the Vision Pro as the next step.

The long-awaited release of blood pressure monitoring may not be coming this year, as Apple has reportedly encountered “some serious issues” and it hasn’t proven to be as reliable as hoped in testing. This most notably happened when the feature was linked to the new Apple Watch X design (we’re assuming its thinness is to blame, but of course only Apple knows for sure).

Anyway, even once this feature is launched, it will not give you an exact measurement of your blood pressure. The feature calculates your baseline and keeps track of whether it is relatively higher than that and warns you.

Another tricky feature for Apple is sleep apnea tracking, which is tied to your blood oxygen saturation. Apple is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with Masimo about this, and so Apple Watches can’t measure blood oxygen levels until that’s resolved. So either the lawsuit is settled by September, or Apple finds a solution. Or, the most likely scenario, this feature remains on hold.

Apple is also said to be working on a new entry-level model, the Apple Watch SE, which could be made of hard plastic instead of aluminum to further reduce costs and directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch FEwhich is $199 compared to $249 for Apple’s current Watch SE.
