Apple and Amazon have announced a partnership that will allow Prime Video subscribers to enjoy Apple TV+ content. Later this month, paying Prime Video users can purchase an add-on for $9.99 per month to enjoy Apple’s content including Severance, Slow Horses and The Morning Show.
Once the service becomes available later this month, Prime members will be able to subscribe to Apple TV+ without downloading additional apps beyond Prime Video. The additional subscription is monthly and can therefore be canceled at any time without additional costs.
Mike Hopkins, senior vice president and head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said the partnership will provide viewers with “an incredible breadth of viewing options.” An official press release noted that Apple Original films, documentaries and series have earned 516 wins and 2,308 award nominations, including the multiple Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso.
The subscription is not limited to Apple owners and users. Anyone in the United States can enjoy the content where Prime Video is available on virtually any device. Although the report stated that more areas should follow, we do not have a timeline for that.
