According to the early order guide, the second year of the The third generation of the Chevrolet Traverse will restore the High Country finish. This is usually Chevrolets top-of-the-line trim and was last seen on the midsize SUV for the 2023 model year, the final year of the second-generation model. At the time, the trim levels were LS, LT, RS, Premier, High Country. However, when the High Country trim returns for 2025, it will be slotted below the RS. Combined with the fact that the current entry-level LS trim won’t see the 2025 model year, the upcoming trim levels will be LT, Z71, High Country, RS.
On the other hand, the High Country will emphasize its status as a glossy luxury option. For example, every trim level except the High Country gets standard roof rails. It will be the only trim level to get body-colored door handles with a chrome strip and brightwork around the top of the greenhouse. And the High Country will ride on 22-inch aluminum wheels instead of the Grazen Metallic and High Gloss Black rims found on the rest of the lineup.
In terms of equipment, much of the standard High Country kit from the sporty RS comes above. That includes animated LED headlights and sequential turn signals, dimmable and power-folding door mirrors, RainSense wipers, Bose 10-speaker audio, active noise cancellation, the Driver Confidence Package with HD Surround Vision and Traffic Sign Recognition, and three years of Super Cruise. But that’s not all the kit: the electric panoramic sunroof is a standalone option.
The luxury version also gets two interior options, one in Jet Black with bronze accents, the other in Jet Black with Air Cool Grey accents. Harvest Bronze Metallic joins the colour palette, but it will only be available on the Z71, meaning High Country owners will miss out on an opportunity to add a nice contrast to the interior. The new Stardust Metallic appears to be the exclusive color for the High Country.
Regardless of the version, the Traverse comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, shifting through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Z71 comes only with AWD; other trim levels are front-wheel drive, or AWD.
The prices are not yet known, so we don’t know where Chevy plans to set the MSRP floor. The 2025 Traverse LS starts at $40,995 after destination, the LT at $43,395.
