The 2024 Dodge Charger The Daytona is officially out in the wild, on display at the opening of Motor Trend’s Roadkill Nights. That means first impressions and video toursand footage of executives explaining how they arrived at their decision. Mopar Insiders was one of the guests who quickly posted his opinion about the new Chargerand it’s almost all positive. The car looks pretty attractive from all the photos and videos we’ve seen, and MI says the exterior is the business personified, and the interior is a big upgrade over what came before. We might have to get our hands on that pistol-grip shifter before we judge that.

MI also notes a few deviations from the concept, such as the concept’s carbon LED Matrix headlights that are simply LED for production, the concept carbon fiber finished in gloss black for price reasons, and the traditional door handles are electronic units shared with the upcoming battery-electric Jeep Wagoneer SThese are the versions built on a 400-volt architecture, the 800-volt flagship SRT Banshee version could bring back some of the concept’s more luxurious details.

Two of our biggest takeaways from the article are that MI is calling the red car a Scat Pack First Edition, which leads us to believe there are still some MSRP surprises in store after our reports on rumors about prices And official pricesThe other is a clear photo of the frunk — the one that comes with the $4,995 Plus Group. It’s less of a cargo area, more of a deep, carpeted storage bin. We suspect there’s so much room in the sealed cargo area, especially with the seats that fold flat, that the frunk won’t see much use, though it does look like a great place to stash the charging cable and other small bits and bobs that every driver might want to carry for emergencies.
